*BAS-CÔTÉ
To announce the 2026–2027 season of Espace Dukat, Collectif Kimera comes together around a scenography that explores family models and the conditions for building a shared world. *bas-côté invites us to step inside the space imagined for the image launching the previous season, *demi-tour. Having become a chosen family, the collective questions the structures that shape us, between the legacy of the nuclear family, religious references, and the desire for a more inclusive society.
A cold industrial space, reminiscent of a corridor of storage units, transforms into a warm family living room. As a chosen family, we wait. In a context where systems drive people apart and individualism is on the rise, waiting together becomes a political act: that of coming together as a collective. Conceived both as an artistic installation for the group exhibition *bas-côté and as the setting for a manifesto photograph launching Espace Dukat’s 2026–2027 season, this project by Souplex Atelier invites the eye to wander and lose itself in a profusion of details, references, and compositional plays.
