DIVINE K.
(she/they/he)
Divine is a terrible lip-syncer who particularly enjoys making up stories about themselves.
Divine is interested in what fails, what lies hidden, or what glimmers in the dark. Through installation, writing, video, performance, and model-making, they create melancholic, camp worlds that draw on popular culture, summoning ghost-like images that accompany them. In their work, they use collage and reappropriation to navigate networks of affinities within a queer genealogy, leading us to pleasurable encounters in the darkrooms. The practice of cruising thus becomes a way of inhabiting the contradictions of a quest that embraces fantasy, deviations, backtracking, dissonances, absences and excesses.
